Led by the Vice President for the Office of Development, Jim Hall (https://www.linkedin.com/in/jim-hall-913270131/), our fundraising team at Georgia Tech currently consists of more than 100 professionals who are focused on securing transformative philanthropy (major and principal gifts) to support the strategic priorities of the Institute and its colleges, schools, and programs, including Georgia Tech Athletics. For fiscal year 2024 (closed 6/30/2024), the Development teams efforts resulted in over $243 million in new gifts and commitments in support of Transforming Tomorrow: The Campaign for Georgia Tech which will secure more than $2 billion in new commitments and gifts from individuals, foundations, corporations, and other organizations. One of the most significant priorities within Transforming Tomorrow is ensuring access of the brightest undergraduate, graduate, and professional students to Georgia Tech, regardless of their socioeconomic backgrounds. Within the campaign, Athletics has become the first unit on campus to surpass its initial fundraising target of $300M to support facilities, current operations, and endowment. Following this success, Athletics priorities and goals will be expanded and increased during the final years of the campaign in order to fulfill the vision of Georgia Tech Athletics, ensure the athletic and academic success of our student-athletes both on and off the fields and courts of competition, and provide a sustainable financial base for Athletics within the ever-changing marketplace of collegiate sports.

Job Summary

The Program Manager works with many levels of Georgia Tech Development and Athletic Association (GTAA) leadership and staff to manage the Alexander-Tharpe Fund (A-T Fund) efforts based on industry best practices; works as the single point of contact for facilitation and communication of program goals, deliverables, and schedules, and must be an excellent communicator; various levels of documentation will be produced at each stage of the program and the program manager is often the person who creates these with input from others.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1-Facilitate the creation of A-T Fund definitions, work breakdowns,
rough order estimates, program plans, communication plans, and program schedules and specifications A-T Fund
Job Duty 2-Research solutions to A-T Fund management issues using the appropriate resources; lead short-term, tactical programs of diverse types
Job Duty 3-Promote and follow the objectives, priorities, goals of the A-T Fund through best practices and industry-standard methodologies
Job Duty 4- Interact regularly with A-T Fund donors stakeholders, Georgia Tech
staff, and others to determine their needs and use the existing program methodology to develop plans to address these efficiently.
Job Duty 5- Facilitate or contribute to team or programmatic meetings to communicate
program timelines, milestones, and updates
Job Duty 6-May participate in and provide information for the strategic planning
process at the unit or department level
Job Duty 7-Create program artifacts, agendas, presentations, and meeting minutes for program team; Prepare reports and program documentation
Job Duty 8-May provide training, guidance, and direction to other staff, especially as it pertains to the use of tools for effective program management
Job Duty 9- Perform other job-related duties assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Experience
Two or more years of job-related experience in non-profit fundraising, sports or college athletics

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Certifications, Licenses or Permits:

o Project Management Professional - (PMP)
o Certified Associate in Project Management - (CAPM)

Preferred Educational Qualifications
Master's Degree

Proposed Salary

Salary Range: $63,303 - $67,000 (Commensurate with education and experience)

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

SKILLS
This job requires working knowledge of fundraising processes and protocols; organization, interpersonal, written and oral communications skills; ability to work independently and as team member and multi-tasking abilities. Use of office related computer applications is required.
