Your Assignment at a Glance

  • Manage litigation, claims, and legal matters under attorney supervision, including collecting and organizing evidence, drafting discovery and subpoena responses, preparing affidavits, position statements, and other supporting legal documents.
  • Draft and prepare confidential correspondence, pleadings, reports, and other complex legal documentation.
  • Review and redline contracts.
  • Conduct legal and factual research, investigations, and due diligence; analyze findings and prepare summary reports with recommendations.
  • Develop and improve processes related to claims management and legal operations.
  • Maintain accurate legal files, records, and databases.
  • Review and sort legal files and records based on the Company's record retention guidelines.
  • Support strategic legal initiatives and complete special projects as assigned.

What We Need From You

  • 8+ years of experience as a paralegal in a legal department.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and effectively partner with management and associates.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of applicable state laws and regulations relevant to company operations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, legal research tools/technology, and contract review and management tools/technology (including AI tools).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Customer- and stakeholder-focused, with the ability to adapt to change and support evolving business needs.
  • Understanding of legal department functions and objectives.

Physical and Environmental Requirements
The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by a Contractor to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of the job, the Contractor is required on a daily basis to analyze and interpret data, communicate, and remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the work day and frequently access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices. The Contractor is regularly required to move about the office and around the corporate campus. The Contractor must frequently move up to 10 pounds and occasionally move up to 25 pounds.

Travel Requirements

  • Role will be at our Friedkin Corporate Campus. If assigned to a project connected to the Company's supply chain operations or other related entities, this contractor may occasionally need to travel to locations in North Houston and/or Sealy, Texas.
