Job Summary Provide a thorough evaluation of a patient's medical/surgical history prior to planned procedures and surgeries requiring anesthesia. Emphasis is placed on cardiovascular function, respiratory conditions, anemia, smoking cessation, diabetes optimization, nutrition, pain management, perioperative geriatric considerations and obstructive sleep apnea screening. Position requires screening for all types of procedures and surgeries within a broad range of specialties and adults 18 years and above. Job Duties and Responsibilities
Job Eligibility Requirements Education NP: Graduate of accredited DNP or MSN Nurse Practitioner program for adult care. PA: Graduate of ARC accredited Physician Assistant Program. Bachelor's degree required; Master's or Doctoral Degree strongly preferred. Certification NP: NP certification to treat adults, e.g., FNP, AGACNP, AGPCNP, ANP, AGNP. PA: PA-C
License NP: Current unrestricted RN license issued by or recognized by the NCBON with approval to practice as an NP. PA: Current unrestricted medical license issued by the NCMB with approval to practice as a PA. Both: Federal and State unrestricted prescriptive authority Experience NP: Prefer 2 years experience as NP in preanesthesia testing, cardiology, hospital medicine, general surgery or surgical specialties. Job Hours The schedule will be Monday through Friday, 1 to 2 days per week for a 10hour shift; no call, evenings, or weekends. This is a PRN position to support clinic access, PTO coverage, and other departmental needs. Schedule may be changed by administrative or clinical leadership to meet department needs.
