Johns Hopkins Medicine is a premier, not-for-profit academic health system based in Baltimore, MD, combining top-ranked patient care with research and education. The RN - Clinical Quality Reviewer is instrumental in carrying out the hospital's Quality and Safety Plan. This role is responsible for identifying, coordinating, and leading quality improvement initiatives. Key responsibilities include medical record review, data abstraction and analysis, identifying opportunities for improvement, project management, and facilitating team collaboration. Through this work, the RN - Clinical Quality Reviewer helps enhance patient outcomes, strengthen financial performance, and improve the hospital's rankings and ratings.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Conduct medical record reviews.
  • Complete required registry data collection and entry.
  • Analyze performance metrics to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance quality and effectiveness.
  • Develop strategies to reduce PPCs, PSIs, and hospital-acquired conditions.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to improve care and hospital rankings.
  • Support hospital-wide, multidisciplinary teams.


Additional Responsibility:



  • Supports and leads hospital-wide quality committees and meetings.
  • Participates in health system and external work groups as appropriate.


Education & Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or a related field; an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
  • Experience in a healthcare setting, including interpreting and evaluating quality standards.
  • Demonstrated success leading process improvement initiatives and implementing data-driven solutions in healthcare.
  • Previous RN experience in the Emergency Department, Intensive Care, or Perioperative/Procedural Services preferred.
