Cost Engineer

Cost Engineer - reporting to Engineer Manager

Responsibilities
Responsible for developing bid packages in response to customer RFQs and following through with awarded contracts to ensure cost of sales. Prepares cost and work completion estimates for routine projects. Compiles itemized materials and price lists from blueprints and specifications.

• Review new RFQ packages for bid/no bid decisions.
• Develop labor, NRE and Tooling requirements.
• Develop excel BOM's for purchasing.
• Formulate pricing based on developed material, labor, and NRE costs utilizing appropriate rate code
• Following through with awarded contract to ensure build efficiency is being met and adjusting quotes based on material cost and labor times
• Work closely with internal organization such as Quoting, Purchasing, Engineering, Test, Manufacturing, etc.
• Submit and follow-up proposals with customers/obtain relevant information
• Prepare letters to the customer requesting additional information or documentation clarification
• Participates in TQM initiatives in conducting daily tasks
• Responsible for own safety following company and OSHA safety guidelines
