The Opportunity: IO Onboarding Specialist Every Independent Operator you bring on board represents a new entrepreneur, a new market opportunity, and a direct contribution to Utz's continued growth. Your work will have real business impact - helping people build livelihoods while expanding a beloved brand across the country.

The IO Onboarding Specialist is responsible for fulfilling requests for new Independent Operators by attracting qualified candidates through strategic recruitment efforts. This role involves identifying, screening, and onboarding prospective operators with the competencies and motivation to succeed in a small business environment. The Specialist works closely with leadership and sales operations, actively promotes the Utz IO business model, and supports candidates throughout the transition process to ensure a smooth onboarding experience and minimize early attrition. Additionally, this position requires maintaining a pipeline of potential candidates, managing advertising and outreach, and collaborating with legal and compliance to ensure accuracy and regulatory adherence.

*This role can be offered as fully remote or the candidate can be based in Hanover, PA at our headquarters location.

What You'll Do:



  • Develop and execute recruiting strategies to attract qualified candidates.
  • Conduct initial qualification interviews to assess business ownership mindset, motivation, financial readiness, and operational capability.
  • Build a consistent pipeline of candidates through industry referrals, word-of-mouth, online platforms, and local outreach.
  • Actively promote the Utz IO opportunity as a small business ownership model.
  • Support Sales Operations Team by communicating daily regarding the sourcing process including candidates, success of postings, and additional needs.
  • Clearly explain the Utz IO business model, including:

    • Route purchase requirements and valuation
    • Revenue, margin structure, and expense expectations
    • Day to day operational responsibilities
    • Growth opportunities and customer expectations


  • Work closely with legal to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Responsible for listing and de-listing available routes on UtzDSD.com and Craigslist.
  • Responsible for maintaining our online presence at Utz IO Opportunities on Facebook.
  • Prepares monthly reconciliation of advertising spend.
  • Maintains advertising budget.
  • Responsible for onboarding and transition support, including coordinating onboarding timelines, periodic check ins, and acting as a point of continuity during transition to avoid early attrition.
  • Work closely with leadership to identify priority markets for recruitment, while understanding market dynamics, route economics, and competitive pressures.
  • Maintain a bench of candidates for future opportunities.
  • Regularly communicates with MDLs, SODs, and VPs.
  • Other duties as assigned.


What You Bring:

Education



  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.


Experience



  • One to three years of professional experience in recruiting, talent acquisition, sales, or related fields; experience in small business, franchise, or independent operator environments is highly valuable.


Skills



  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Must be able and willing to sit, stand, listen and communicate for long periods.
