Description and Requirements
Lenovo's Solutions and Services Group (SSG) delivers innovative IT services that enable organizations to transform and grow. We are seeking a Director of Strategy and Planning to drive operational planning, execution rigor, and performance management across key strategic priorities.
This role will play a critical part in translating strategy into action-ensuring alignment across teams, establishing clear operating rhythms, and driving accountability for results. The ideal candidate brings strong business acumen, structured problem-solving, and a track record of leading cross-functional initiatives in complex, matrixed environment.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Planning & Execution
  • Lead the annual and multi-year planning processes, translating strategic priorities into actionable operating plans across SSG.
  • Establish clear execution frameworks, including milestones, KPIs, and governance structures to ensure delivery against business objectives.
  • Drive operational rigor through consistent business reviews, tracking progress, identifying risks, and ensuring timely course correction.
  • Partner with business leaders to align resources, priorities, and execution plans to achieve targeted outcomes.
Business Performance Management
  • Develop and manage performance management frameworks to monitor business health, including revenue, pipeline, and operational metrics.
  • Leverage data-driven insights to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities to improve performance.
  • Lead regular operating cadences (e.g., monthly/quarterly business reviews), providing actionable insights and recommendations to leadership.
  • Support decision-making through scenario planning, forecasting, and business analysis.
Cross-Functional Execution
  • Partner across portfolio, sales, services delivery, and operations teams to ensure alignment and execution of key initiatives.
  • Drive coordination and accountability across a global, matrixed organization to remove barriers and accelerate outcomes.
  • Lead high-impact, cross-functional initiatives focused on growth, efficiency, and customer outcomes.
Governance & Continuous Improvement
  • Establish and manage governance models to ensure transparency, accountability, and effective decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, simplify operations, and enhance organizational effectiveness.
  • Promote a culture of execution excellence, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision-making.
Selective Strategic Initiatives (Including M&A Support)
  • Support select strategic initiatives, including targeted partnerships or acquisitions, with a primary focus on execution and integration.
  • Contribute to due diligence and integration planning as needed to ensure alignment with operational priorities.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 10-12+ years of experience in strategy, operations, business planning, or related roles.
  • Proven track record of driving operational planning, execution, and performance management in a complex organization.
  • Experience in IT services, technology, or a related industry preferred.
  • Experience working in global, cross-functional, matrixed environments.
Preferred Qualfications
  • Strong operational and business acumen, with the ability to translate strategy into execution.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across all levels.
  • Experience building and managing operating cadences, KPIs, and governance frameworks.
  • Familiarity with process improvement methodologies (e.g., Agile, Lean) and performance management tools.
This role offers the flexibility to be home-based anywhere in the U.S. within the Eastern or Central time zones. If you're near our Chicago or Raleigh offices, we follow a friendly hybrid model with three days a week in the office-great for collaboration and connection!

The base salary range budgeted for this position is $200,000 to $250,000. Individuals may also be considered for bonuses and/or commissions. Lenovo's various benefits can be found at www.lenovobenefits.com.
