Application Programmer

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Starburst DevOps/Admin - Hybrid for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.

This position involves end-to-end platform administration and support tasks across a shared Starburst platform. The ideal candidate will handle installation, configuration, platform maintenance, disaster recovery, and software release management. Key duties include serving as a Level 3+ escalation point for issue resolution, tuning environments, and contributing to best practices.

Responsibilities:

• Perform installation and configuration of Starburst
• Coordinate, plan, and execute activities related to platform maintenance, Disaster Recovery, and Software release management
• Serve as L3+ escalation for Platform Issue resolution, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis
• Handle configuration and tuning of production and lower-level environments
• Perform Capacity & Stability monitoring and assist with Platform metrics collection and reporting
• Contribute to the definition, review, documentation & communication of standards and Best Practices

Requirements:

• Hands-on experience with Starburst software installation and configuration
• Working knowledge of Openshift and Kubernetes
• Proven troubleshooting and issue resolution skills
• Ability to analyze and communicate root cause and resolution steps
• Familiarity with Starburst software Best Practices
• Working knowledge of the Starburst software security model and adaptability
• Experience with SQL query tuning
• Experience with connectivity configuration for Starburst
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with Hadoop and Python

Desired skills:

• Experience with JDBC connectivity setup
