Genesis10 is currently seeking an IT Project Manager for a contract to hire opportunity with a Major Energy Company located in Charlotte, NC. This is a hybrid/remote position.

This role is responsible for leading cross-functional IT initiatives by developing and executing comprehensive project plans, communication strategies, and structured change management approaches. Operating within a renewable energy environment, this position ensures that project execution and change management efforts are effectively delivered and aligned with business goals. The role will also support M&A integration efforts as needed to ensure smooth technology and process alignment across organizations.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end project management and change management for IT initiatives and M&A projects, including planning, execution, integration roadmap development, and cross-system consolidation
  • Develop, maintain, and execute detailed project plans, ensuring alignment with timelines, budgets, scope, resources, and quality standards
  • Partner with IT project teams, integration teams, and business units to ensure alignment on project objectives and provide clear, timely, and consistent communication
  • Lead change management and communication to support the IT department, including developing communication plans and preparing stakeholders for changes
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and engagement, identifying key groups and ensuring appropriate involvement in decision-making and readiness activities
  • Produce user-centric communication materials, such as newsletters, intranet updates, executive briefings, project status reports, and job aids
  • Support incident, outage, and transition communications, ensuring timely updates aligned with cybersecurity, compliance, and business continuity requirements
  • Manage and optimize internal communication channels (SharePoint, Teams, and other platforms)
  • Coordinate with leadership and key stakeholders to ensure that technology integration milestones, dependencies, risks, and decision points are clearly defined and managed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in project management, or lesser degree and 6+ years of experience in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or a related field
  • Proven experience as a Project and/or Change Manager, specifically in operational systems or M&A, with a focus on generation operational systems
  • Capable of managing time effectively while working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Ability to analyze complex problems, develop innovative solutions, and drive successful project outcomes
  • Strong analytical skills, including an understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements
  • Ability to identify problems and deal with situations and issues proactively
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with executives, managers, and subject matter experts
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software (MS Project, Jira)

Desired skills:

  • Project management certification (e.g., PMP)
  • Experience or knowledge of generation operational systems, to include Netsuite, Aveva PI, Client EMS, MAXIMO, EZ MAX, MV 90, VT SCADA, Tagspro, and HSSE systems
  • Knowledge or familiarity of ISO/RTO operations and compliance requirements
  • Strong understanding of renewable generation principles, regulations, and industry best practices

Pay range: $70.00 - $90.00
