*Overview:*
The Desktop Support Specialist provides handson technical support for end users in a Microsoft Windows-based environment. This role is responsible for troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues, ensuring workstation reliability, and delivering excellent customer service. The ideal candidate has strong experience supporting Windows desktops, laptops, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and related systems in a fastpaced environment. *Key Responsibilities:* * Provide daytoday desktop support to end users for Windows 10/11 systems, peripherals, and approved software applications. * Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to hardware, operating systems, network connectivity, printers, and user accounts. * Install, configure, and upgrade desktops, laptops, and peripheral equipment following corporate standards. * Manage user accounts, password resets, access permissions, and group memberships in Active Directory and Azure AD. * Support Microsoft 365 applications including Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and related services. * Perform workstation imaging, deployment, patching, and ongoing maintenance using approved tools. * Document ticket activity, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions in the IT service management (ITSM) system. * Assist with VPN connectivity, remote access tools, and mobile device support. * Maintain inventory accuracy for workstations, peripherals, and software licenses. * Escalate complex incidents to higherlevel support teams while maintaining responsibility for enduser communication. * Follow established IT policies, standards, and security protocols. * Participate in oncall rotation or offhours support as needed. *Required Qualifications:* * 2-4+ years of desktop or enduser support experience in a predominantly Windowsbased environment. * Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, and PC hardware. * Experience with Active Directory administration, group policy, and user account management. * Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP). * Familiarity with imaging and deployment tools such as Intune, SCCM, MDT, or equivalent. * Experience supporting VPN and remote connectivity solutions. * Excellent customer service and communication skills. *Preferred Qualifications:* * Experience with Azure AD, Entra ID, and identity lifecycle management. * Familiarity with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow, Jira, or Cherwell. * Exposure to ITIL best practices. * CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft certifications. * Experience supporting mobile devices (iOS/Android) and basic printer administration. *Work Environment:* * Primarily onsite role supporting handson hardware tasks. * Occasional lifting, moving, or installation of equipment required. *Job Type & Location*This is a Contract position based out of York, NE. *Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $26.00/hr.
