Overview

SCRI Oncology Partners, located in Nashville, Tenn., is a dedicated cancer treatment center led by globally recognized oncologists with disease expertise in cancer care and clinical research. This center offers patients state-of-the art personalized cancer care and opportunities to participate in clinical trials with innovative treatments. The practice conducts clinical trials through their affiliation with Sarah Cannon Research Institute (SCRI), a global leader in oncology research that has been offering and managing clinical trials in the community for over 30 years. Since its inception, SCRI has contributed to pivotal research that has helped advance the majority of new cancer therapies approved by the FDA today.

The SCRI Oncology Partners team is seeking an experienced pharmacy tech who will primarily process oral drug inventory/filling and patient financial assistance for oral medications.


Responsibilities

  • Assists with the preparation of oral medication orders under supervision of a registered pharmacist.
  • Checks all orders for completeness of information.
  • Verifies patient information and proper physician authorization.
  • Under direct supervision, fills oral drugs as ordered by physician in an accurate and timely manner as per department guidelines, and preparing all drugs within OSHA guidelines and interoffice guidelines.
  • Assists in counting oral drugs weekly and maintain records.
  • Assists in keeping accurate logs on all protocol drugs and patient assistance drugs.
  • Maintains proper control documentation of medications including lot numbers.
  • Provide support with inventory control of medications.
  • Prepares labels.
  • Conducts basic data entry into department automation, including prior authorizations and financial assistance.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 to 4 years experience in pharmacy
  • Active Pharmacy Technician Certification
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
