Role Description:

As a Vice President, Sustainable Brokerage in the Sustainability & Technical Advisory Group (STAG) within Tri-State Leasing Advisory, you will collaborate closely with the STAG Lead to develop and execute business strategy, delivery approaches, and capabilities. This position is crucial for driving growth and success in this new business initiative, requiring a strategic mindset as we build this business from the ground up.

Your responsibilities include supporting the JLL Markets Leasing team in lead generation, business development, and delivery. You will manage designated leads, pursuits, and projects while representing JLL and the STAG business in both internal and external presentations.

You will support the development of delivery collateral templates including technical analysis reports, peer comparisons, site selection analyses, and leasing considerations. Additionally, you'll help create targeted marketing messages that address key stakeholder concerns across various domains.

You will advise prospective and active clients on sustainability & technical engineering considerations and resulting implications across local law compliance, corporate sustainability alignment, and overall client needs. Your ability to communicate technical sustainability and engineering content to brokerage and real estate audiences will be critical to your success.

Your success in this role will depend on your leadership abilities, communication skills, business acumen, professional demeanor, and ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead Generation

  • Industry Engagement

You will proactively engage with sustainability and real estate contacts to build a strong network.

You will attend conferences and networking events to represent the company and identify new opportunities.

  • Market Engagement

You will conduct proactive meetings with brokers to foster relationships and identify potential collaborations.

You will respond to meetings with brokers and potential clients/partners to address their needs and explore business opportunities.

Business Development

You will qualify leads and develop project scopes to ensure alignment with company goals and client needs.

You will create compelling proposals and presentations to showcase our services and value proposition.

You will participate in pitches and engage directly with clients to win new business.

Project Delivery

You will perform corporate sustainability assessments to help clients improve their environmental performance.

You will conduct market analysis and engage with landlords to identify sustainable real estate opportunities.

You will develop and negotiate leasing clauses that incorporate sustainability considerations.

You will provide consulting advisory services pre-transaction to ensure sustainability is integrated into real estate decisions.

Business Operations

You will develop efficient delivery processes to enhance our service quality and client satisfaction.

You will create marketing and business development collateral to support our growth strategies.

You will provide administrative support to ensure smooth operations of the sustainable brokerage function.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 7-10 years' experience in real estate sustainability, decarbonization/energy efficiency, Decarbonization strategy/consulting, Decarbonization program management and/or Decarbonization disclosure
  • BA/BS degree in environmental science, engineering, real estate, finance, accounting, business, or related field preferred
  • Master's degree in strategy, business, sustainability management or real estate a plus
  • Demonstrated experience in presentation delivery, business development, proposal/solution development, sales and client engagement preferred
  • Experience with Building Performance Standards (LL97, BERDO, BEPS, etc.) strongly preferred
  • Experience interfacing with commercial real estate brokers, landlords and corporate sustainability teams preferred.
  • Experience with any of the following a plus: ENERGY STAR, Building HVAC Systems, International Living Futures Institute, Net Zero Carbon, Passive House, Zero Waste, LEED, WELL, Fitwel
  • Possess strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • CEM, CEA, CxA , PE, LEED AP, WELL AP and/or Fitwel Ambassador a plus

Location:

New York / Tri-State Required. Hybrid arrangements available with emphasis on in-office presence at least 3 days / week.

This position does not provide visa sponsorship. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Estimated compensation for this position:

150,000.00 - 190,000.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
