What You'll Do

Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications, the Marketing and Communications Specialist provides advanced-level support in promoting effective communications across the school. This includes developing and managing enrollment marketing campaigns; overseeing the production of print and digital materials; researching and recommending communications and marketing strategies; evaluating and reporting on campaign effectiveness; and writing effective content for a variety of formats. This position will work closely with the Marketing and Communications Associate, student workers, and outside vendors and consultants.

Strategy and Management

  • Manages the execution for University College internal and external marketing communications, including managing an annual calendar across all channels and program areas.
  • Develops automated email nurture streams across multiple programs, leveraging performance data to make optimizations as needed.
  • Maintains calendar of admissions and registration deadlines, regularly auditing the University College website to ensure content is current and strategically promoting new offerings and program launches.
  • Evaluates effectiveness of social media content and strategy; collaborates with Marketing and Communications Associate on content creation.
  • Works with Marketing and Communications Director to develop content library / key assets.

Content, Materials Publications

  • Writes material that supports communications projects and strategies for University College.
  • Effectively creates compelling, accurate, and effective marketing collateral across all program areas.
  • Fosters relationships with multiple print vendors to competitively quote and manage the creation, execution and delivery of collateral across University College brands.
  • Researches, schedules, and coordinates the production of annual marketing giveaways.
  • Supports web content creation; collaborating with web developers as needed for new applications and enhancements.

Reporting and Analysis

  • Prepares and presents reports on campaign strategies; evaluates results and recommends strategies or new initiatives.
  • Partners with external vendors to optimize HubSpot CRM system reporting capabilities; aids in the development of HubSpot reporting dashboards, including the performance and conversions of leads across all University College programs and campaigns.
  • Collaborates with internal and external partners to navigate system integrations (HubSpot, Slate, Meta and Google). Aids in centralizing content and creating reporting to improve and understand program audience(s) and campaign effectiveness.

Supervision and Direction

  • Serves as primary contact for UC's marketing agency partners and vendors across programs.
  • Provides training and project updates to staff, student workers and temporary workers.

Events

  • Manages the research, registration, coordination and execution of 10+ events each year.
  • Manages virtual webinars, including calendar oversight, hosting and guiding virtual meetings, and overseeing slide templates.

Budget and Financials

  • Manages the financial transactions related to media, marketing tools and service charges across UC.
  • Manages budget and financials for events, including registration fees, employee travel, and sourcing materials for promotion.

What We're Looking For

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in related area of study and 4-6 years of marketing or communications experience.
  • Experience with HubSpot and/or Slate strongly preferred.
  • Experience in education or non-profit setting preferred.

With manager approval, University staff may work remotely up to three days per week. Staff may also work fully in-person if that is their preference. When business needs require it, for example during onboarding, team retreats, and UC Roundtable meetings, the position is expected to be in the office more frequently. During peak programming time, staff may need to work some night and weekend hours (planned and unplanned, remote and in-person) to respond to student and staff needs, including occasional weekends. Specific schedules will be planned in coordination with the Director.


Pay Range

Minimum $60,000.00, Midpoint $75,000.00, Maximum $90,100.00

Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity; generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
