Title: Assistant Buyer
Location: Clayton, MO

Salary: $55,800 to $60,240
Schedule: Hybrid schedule available, up to 2 days remote per week

Focus: The Assistant Buyer role will involve assisting with sourcing products, evaluating bids, ensuring the best value for the organization, and collaborating with various departments, including production, to align procurement activities with overall business needs.

Assistant Buyer Essential Job Functions:

  • Convert purchase requisitions into purchase orders.

  • Evaluate production material requirements and issue purchase orders as needed.

  • Determine monthly metal requirements based on production schedules.

  • Send expedited reports to suppliers to confirm on-time delivery.

  • Monitor supplier delivery performance.

  • Obtain a certificate of origin for purchased items, as required.

  • Coordinate Non-Conformance Material Report (NCMR) processing with Quality, Inventory Control, and Suppliers.

Assistant Buyer Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum 2 years of Purchasing, Accounts Payable, or Accounts Receivable experience.

  • Proficiency in Word and Excel experience; SAP preferred.

  • Knowledge of purchasing, MRP, and ISO standards is preferred.

  • Highly motivated self-starter who can thrive in a team-oriented environment.

  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and communication (verbal and written) skills.

Location-Specific Requirements:

  • This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required.
