As a Senior I&C Engineer on our Setpoints and Control Systems team, you will support a broad range of Nuclear Steam Supply System (NSSS) engineering activities. This will include control systems design and analysis, NSSS Design Transients development, LowTemperature Overpressure Protection System (LTOPS) evaluations, and setpoint uncertainty analyses for the Reactor Trip System (RTS) and Engineered Safety Feature Actuation System (ESFAS). You will also performing datadriven and statistical analyses to support system performance evaluations and surveillance interval extensions. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with subject matter experts across multiple nuclear disciplines to deliver highquality technical solutions that ensure safe, reliable plant operation.

You will report to the Supervisor, Setpoints and Control Systems and will work at our Warrendale, PA and Cranberry Township, PA offices.

Key Responsibilities:




  • Develop and maintain functional designs for AP1000 digital control systems and legacy analog control/protection systems.
  • Produce and update Functional Requirements and Functional Diagrams for NSSS control system architecture.
  • Perform operational transient analyses to validate I&C logic, settings, and overall plant response.
  • Evaluate normal plant operating transients and recommend plant design or configuration changes to resolve performance issues.
  • Analyze lowtemperature overpressurization scenarios and develop/maintain LTOPS configurations to ensure adequate protection.
  • Develop and maintain NSSS Design Transients for component qualification and update them to reflect plant modifications.
  • Perform and maintain setpoint uncertainty analyses using NRCapproved Westinghouse Setpoint Methodology for nuclear power plants.
  • Conduct statistical analyses of instrument drift to support surveillance interval extension requests and integrate results into setpoint analyses.
  • Estimate scope, cost, and impacts of design changes affecting existing systems.
  • Support project managers in planning and schedule development.
  • Prepare clear, technically accurate reports for internal and external customers.
  • Participate in routine mentor/supervisor reviews to monitor progress, training needs, and technical understanding.
  • Other duties assigned by the SCS Supervisor.



Qualifications:




  • BS in Mechanical or Nuclear Engineering.
  • 4+ years of applicable work experience required.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) certification preferred.
  • Strong technical foundational knowledge, including a desire and willingness to learn.
  • Previous knowledge of overall design and operation of Pressurized Water Reactors (PWR) and systems is highly preferred but not required.
  • Prior knowledge and experience with instrumentation associated with pressure, temperature, level, flow and power measurement.
  • Experience modeling PWR transients is preferred but not required.
  • A basic knowledge of statistics and data analysis is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to apply fundamental engineering principles (including fluid mechanics and thermodynamics).
  • Ability to evaluate analysis inputs and results to develop a specific technical solution thataddresses the customer requirements.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive customer relationships by addressing customer concerns and issues.



We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications, and skills, is estimated to be $85,200.00 to $106,500.00 per year.
