Megapack Business Development Manager, Onsite Power & Microgrids

This is a dynamic role that requires a broad range of skillsets and experience, with responsibilities including owning and executing strategic initiatives and projects, developing new business models, and synthesizing tough problems into executive-level decision points. Strong candidates for this role will be well-versed in on-site power deployments (including at data centers, remote communities & mines, and oil field operations) and their associated energy technologies, and will bring a structured approach to solving problems, strong executive-level communications, and a history of successfully managing a wide array of projects and stakeholders. Working on Tesla's Energy Business Development Team requires wearing many hats and adapting to a fast-paced work environment.Besides a rock-solid work ethic and a strong team-oriented personality, members of the team must display creativity, passion, and a desire to break new ground in a constantly shifting landscape.

The role is based at Tesla's offices in Palo Alto, CA or Austin, TX. Some travel is required.

• Explore new business models and applications for energy storage as part of on-site power systems, including thermal generation plant co-optimization, reliability enhancements, and new use case enablement
• Understand emerging industry trends and educate the rest of the company and update strategy, offers, and products accordingly
• Lead cross-functional, cross-regional initiatives to align on organizational strategy and present results to leadership
• Develop and executeon outreach strategies with major market players, potential customers, and potential partners in support of the team's many initiatives

• Excellent understanding of on-site power landscape, including remote & temporary power deployments. Strong existing connections across the industry preferred
• Entrepreneurial mindset - self-starter who can explore and qualify opportunities with little direction, and has a track record of success
• Strong communications, strategy, financial modeling, and program management skills
• Experience presenting to executive teams, ideally in a BD or strategy role
• 8+ years in energy or on-site power industry
