Accounting Department

The Accounting Department is integral to maintaining the financial health and integrity of our organization. Our mission is to provide accurate, timely, and relevant financial information while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and collaboratively supporting the company's strategic goals. The Accounting Department manages a broad range of functions, including financial reporting, treasury, forecasting, month-end close activities, financial systems, fixed assets, consolidations, and campus-specific financial oversight. By maintaining the integrity and accuracy of financial data, we enable informed decision-making and uphold ethical standards across all financial activities. We prioritize continuous improvement in processes and systems to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

Position Overview

This position will be based out of our office in Denver, CO, in alignment with our flexible work policy (3 days on site required, 2 days flexible).

The Manager, Accounting is responsible for leading and overseeing all fixed assetrelated accounting activities across the organization. This role also plays a critical part in supporting the procurement function, managing the full asset lifecycle, and ensuring accurate financial reporting through monthend, quarterend and year-end close.

The role will also be a key finance partner in the implementation of asset management technology tools, with a focus on asset capitalization, tracking, depreciation, and reporting. The Manager will supervise a team of two accountants, maintain fixed asset dashboards, and serve as the primary point of contact for all fixed assetrelated topics across the business.

Essential Job Functions

  • Lead and oversee all fixed assets accounting activities, including asset capitalization, depreciation, transfers, impairments, and disposals.

  • Supervise the finance and accounting aspects of procurementrelated activities, ensuring assets are properly recorded and aligned with accounting policies.

  • Own and manage monthend and quarterend close processes related to fixed assets, including journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.

  • Ensure accurate and timely fixed asset reporting, including balance sheet support and management reporting.

  • Maintain and enhance fixed asset dashboards to provide visibility into asset balances, additions, depreciation, and lifecycle status.

  • Act as the primary business partner and subjectmatter expert for all fixedassetrelated topics, supporting Procurement, Operations, CCF, and other stakeholders.

  • Lead the implementation and ongoing improvement of ERP systems as they relate to fixed assets, including process design, data integrity, and controls.

  • Establish and maintain full asset lifecycle analysis, from acquisition through disposal, to support financial, operational, and strategic decisionmaking.

  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal policies, and internal controls related to fixed assets.

  • Support internal and external audits, including preparation of documentation and responses for fixedassetrelated inquiries.

  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of two accountants, including workload planning, performance feedback, and technical guidance.

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of fixed asset accounting operations.

  • Participate in implementing reporting structures and processes for our large scale campuses.

  • Additional duties as assigned by Management.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, with a strong focus on fixed assets.

  • Proven experience managing fixed assets across the full lifecycle.

  • Prior experience supporting procurement related accounting and capitalization.

  • Experience leading or participating in ERP implementations or system enhancements.

  • Strong understanding of month end and quarter end close processes.

  • Prior experience managing or supervising staff.

  • Experience in capital intensive industries (real estate, infrastructure, data centers, manufacturing).

  • Advanced Excel and financial reporting skills.

  • Experience building dashboards or management reporting.

  • Travel required is expected to be up to 20% but may increase over time as the business evolves.

Additional Details

  • Salary Range: $120,000-$140,000 Base + Bonus (this range is based on Colorado market data and may vary in other locations)

  • This position is eligible for company benefits including but not limited to medical, dental, and vision coverage, life and AD&D, short and long-term disability coverage, paid time off, employee assistance, participation in a 401k program that includes company match, and many other additional voluntary benefits.

  • Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including your qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
