Description

Markon is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support a mission-critical program in a secure environment for the Fort Meade Customer. This role focuses on the design, development, deployment, and sustainment of modern, containerized software systems. The Software Engineer will apply deep technical expertise in Linux, microservices, container orchestration, and monitoring to deliver reliable, scalable solutions while collaborating within Agile, multidisciplinary teams.



Responsibilities

    Design, develop, and maintain microservices-based applications using Java and Spring.
  • Develop and support containerized solutions using Docker and containerd.
  • Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot applications within Kubernetes environments.
  • Utilize Linux command-line tools to support development, debugging, and system operations.
  • Implement and maintain system monitoring and observability using tools such as Grafana and Prometheus.
  • Use Git for source control, collaboration, and version management.
  • Support Agile development practices, participating in planning, development, testing, and deployment cycles.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system reliability, performance, and scalability.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph with this Customer.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline plus 20 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong experience using the Linux command-line interface.
  • Proven experience developing microservices using Java and Spring.
  • Hands-on experience with container technologies, including Docker and containerd.
  • Experience deploying and operating applications in Kubernetes environments.
  • Experience using monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana and Prometheus.
  • Proficiency using Git for version control.
  • Strong problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in an Agile, multidisciplinary team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as GitLab CI and ArgoCD.
  • Experience with OpenSearch or Elasticsearch for data indexing and retrieval.
  • Experience with NiFi for dataflow management and ingestion.
  • Experience with the Amazon HCI platform.


Salary Range

USD $210,000.00 - USD $225,000.00 /Yr.

The Markon pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
