Description

Markon is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support the Fort Meade Customer. This role combines systems engineering and project management to deliver end-to-end data flow solutions supporting tactical mission partners. The Senior Systems Engineer will lead requirements elicitation, planning, and execution for complex data flows, including transformation into standardized data models, while serving as a key technical interface with customers and mission stakeholders. This position operates within an Agile development environment and requires strong customer engagement and technical leadership.



Responsibilities

    Provide systems engineering and project management support for data flows supporting tactical mission partners.
  • Elicit, refine, and manage requirements from customers and external mission partners.
  • Decompose complex problems into work breakdown structures, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain roadmaps, schedules, and implementation plans for end-to-end data flow solutions.
  • Document system artifacts, requirements, and designs using Confluence and Jira.
  • Support the design and implementation of data transformations into standard data models.
  • Serve as a primary liaison to customers, developing strong working relationships and ensuring mission needs are understood.
  • Analyze and assess customer data flow architectures and system-to-system integrations.
  • Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and mission partners in an Agile team environment.
  • Provide technical insight and guidance on data processing, integration, and operational impacts.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph with this Customer.
  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline plus 15 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong experience providing systems engineering support for complex data flow solutions.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including planning, scheduling, and tracking deliverables.
  • Ability to engage with customers and mission partners to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Experience using Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Understanding of data processing capabilities and system-to-system data flows.
  • Basic understanding of Apache NiFi, including flow file concepts, or ability to learn quickly.
  • Knowledge of SIGINT collection and analysis.
  • Experience supporting military cryptologic organizations, tactical collection capabilities, or SIGINT architectures.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in an Agile development environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with TechSIGINT, including ELINT, FISINT, and PROFORMA collection.
  • Experience with Electronic Warfare (EW) operations, sensors, and related data.
  • Familiarity with data formats such as CSV, JSON, PCAP, and XML.
  • Understanding of tactical data links and command and control (C2) signals.
  • Knowledge of enterprise and tactical data architectures.
  • Experience working within the Intelligence Community (IC).
  • Experience supporting DoD Service Intelligence Centers (e.g., NASIC).
  • Understanding of DoD command structures and relationships.
  • Prior experience working directly with customer mission partners.


Salary Range

USD $205,000.00 - USD $225,000.00 /Yr.

The Markon pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
