Responsibilities
  • Own end-to-end design executionfor moderately complex product areas, from problem definition through high-fidelity design, prototyping, and delivery, with minimal oversight.

  • Partner closely with Product Management and Engineeringto shape solutions that arefeasible, coherent, and aligned with product strategy,maintaininga high bar for craft across disciplines.

  • Leverage frontier AI tools(e.g., AI-assisted research synthesis, ideation, prototyping, contentgenerationetc.) to improve the speed, quality, and impact of design outcomes.

  • Translate qualitative and quantitative research insightsinto actionable design improvements, iterating based on user feedback, experimentation, and product metrics.

  • Create and test prototypes(low- to high-fidelity) tovalidateconcepts, de-risk decisions, and clearly communicate intent to partners and stakeholders.

  • Craft compelling design narrativesthat clearly articulate the WHAT, WHY, and HOW, connecting design decisions to user needs and business outcomes.

  • Proactively seek feedback and guidance, incorporating input from peers, managers, and cross-functional partners to continuously improve craft and problem-solving skills.

  • Contribute positively to team culture,participatingin critiques, team rituals, and collaborative work whiledemonstratingopenness to learning and growth.



Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field
    • OR equivalent experience (e.g., demonstrated experience working in product or service design or using design thinking to solve problems).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Portfoliodemonstratingstrong designfundamentals, including well-crafted UI, clear layouts, basic systems thinking, and the ability to explain design decisions and tradeoffs
  • Proficiencywith modern design and prototyping tools, including Figma, and experience using prototyping or "vibe-coding" tools.
  • Hands-on exposure tofrontier AI toolsto augment design workflows (e.g., research synthesis, ideation, prototyping, content, accessibility checks, or experimentation).
  • Solid foundation in interaction design and UX principles, including usability, accessibility, and inclusive design best practices.
  • Strong communicationand storytelling skills, with the ability to present work clearly and receive feedback constructively.

  • Ability to work independently on well-scoped problems, while knowing when to ask questions, seek feedback, and collaborate with others.

Other Requirements: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the
  • Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Product Design IC2 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $84,200 - $165,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $109,000 - $180,400 per year.
