Position Summary:

Silgan Containers is seeking a talented Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer to support multiple manufacturing facilities focusing on coating, thermal ovens, combustion equipment safety, oxidizers, and incinerators. In this role, youcan expect to be challenged on a regular basis to find new and creative solutions to complex issues while working with multiple, highly integrated production facilities. This position will be based out of Brookfield, WI; however, we could considerareas that are in close proximity of other Silgan facilities in the Midwest.

Essential Job Functions:

• Identify and solve production problems that negatively impact product quality and/or throughput
• Direct major equipment overhauls and audits
• Conduct training sessions for supervisors and mechanics on equipment operation and set up
• Work with suppliers to specify, develop, and debug new products, production equipment and manufacturing lines
• Assist in the design and modification of complex tooling required to produce new and innovative products
• Conduct equipment buyoffs to insure capability, efficiencies, and product specifications are met

Education, Skills, and Experience:

• High School diploma required; BS in Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineering preferred or equivalent work experience
• 3+ years proven mechanical experience required
• Skilled with computer software: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD
• Willingness to travel 40-60% of the time or as needed
• Experience with oxidizers/incinerators, thermal ovens, air handling or coating systems is preferred
