Job Description




As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Officer in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government transit location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to concerns with clear communication and customer service. This armed post requires a valid armed guard card or license and a concealed carry weapons permit. You will support a caring, people-first culture while working with agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to passengers, employees, and visitors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at government transportation locations.
  • Carry and maintain assigned firearms and related equipment in accordance with licensing requirements, post orders, and Allied Universal policies, and coordinate with local law enforcement and/or transit personnel as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, medical calls, alarms, and suspicious activity, and communicate updates via radio and/or phone.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of stations, platforms, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter routes to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify hazards or policy violations.
  • Complete detailed incident reports, logbook entries, and evidence documentation as required, and support access control by checking credentials, monitoring designated entry points, and directing individuals to appropriate resources.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possess a concealed carry weapons permit.
  • Be a graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or equivalent.
  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma and/or GED as required by the client.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
