The Controller is responsible for the accounting operations of the business. This includes preparing, analyzing, and processing financial statements, budgets, and monthly and quarterly reports for the company. This position will manage a team to include AP and Cost Accounting.

Duration: Direct Placement/Fulltime Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of business results
- Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements
- Maintain, manage, and analyze financial statements and budgets
- Maintain and manage fixed assets
- Update and review monthly account reconciliations
- Assist with external and internal audits
- Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement, and implementing new processes
- Evaluating accounting and internal control systems
- Evaluating the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database, as needed
- Assist with regulatory reporting
- Hiring, training, and retaining skilled accounting staff
- Note: Other job duties as assigned may not be included in the aforementioned
Required Skills / Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience performing data extraction and manipulation, analyzing financial data, and generating reports.
- 8+ years of experience analyzing variances to budgets, forecasts, and accruals; explaining findings to management; and creating corrective action plans.
- 8+ years of experience working with numbers and completing assignments with strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- 8+ years of experience identifying complex problems, reviewing related information, developing and evaluating options, and implementing solutions.
- 5+ years of experience with DCAA compliance and FAR regulations is required.
8+ years of experience using accounting software such as QuickBooks or similar (ERP software experience preferred).
8+ years of experience with spreadsheet software, specifically Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
8+ years of experience processing information, including compiling, coding, categorizing, calculating, tabulating, auditing, and verifying data.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
- Experience working within a mid-to-large ERP system (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Workday Financials, Dynamics, etc.).
- Prior experience supporting month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close in a fast-paced environment.
- Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling beyond variance analysis.
- Experience partnering with cross-functional teams (Operations, FP&A, HR, Sales, or Executive Leadership).
