The Director of Financial Planning leads the design, coordination, and execution of the organization's enterprise-wide financial planning processes-including the annual budget, long range financial forecast, and continuous forecasting cycle. This role provides strategic oversight of financial performance reporting, ensures alignment between financial plans and organizational priorities, and delivers analytical insights that support executive decision making and long-term financial sustainability.

Essential Job Function

  • Direct the routine financial planning processes by working with executive, divisional, and financial leaders to incorporate all assumptions and considerations such that forecasts produce reasonable and accurate guides tallow for organizational strategic and financial planning.
  • Direct the routine long range financial planning process by researching industry trends and partnering with internal resources to incorporate assumptions and considerations such that forecasts produce reasonable and accurate guides tallow for organizational strategic and financial planning.
  • Directs the routine capital planning processes by establishing and maintaining effective structure and process for evaluating requests, communicating and reporting decisions, and evaluating the success of previously approved investments.
  • Directs the enterprise body of work encompassing efforts to improve financial performance on an ongoing basis.
  • Collaborate with and support operational leaders on analytical and project specific needs.
  • Leads and develops a team of subject matter experts on financial, capital, and business planning.

Education

  • Required: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Healthcare Administration or a related field demonstrating strong analytical capabilities.
  • Preferred: Master's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Accounting, or related field demonstrating strong analytical capabilities.

Experience

  • Required: 8 years progressive experience in finance or operations with management-related duties and responsibilities. A minimum of two years' experience in healthcare finance is required.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with financial planning processes and practices and decision support.
  • Preferred: 10 years of progressive experience in healthcare finance with management related duties and responsibilities.

Licensure/Certification/Listing

  • Required: HFMA - Certified Healthcare Financial Professional certification within 12 months of hire. Preferred: CPA
