Job Description
Job Summary:
Responsible for overseeing the Accounting team and financial functions of an assigned NHBB Division to protect assets, ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, and develop Accounting professionals with a diverse skillset. Partners closely with the Director of Operations to identify and recommend opportunities to improve profitability, and develop strategic plans for the Division. Monitors budgets and other financial statements, conducts audits, and partners with external auditors to ensure compliance. Examines data and provides insights and recommendations to stakeholders, leading the implementation and reviewing results once approved.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the Divisional Accounting team, overseeing scheduling, work assignments, performance management, and training. Mentor and align training with individual and company goals to develop a cross-trained and fully-proficient team. Provide technical guidance and ensure professional development to stay current with applicable accounting regulations.
- Provide leadership in strengthening internal communications with staff at all levels throughout the organization; create and promote a positive and supportive work environment.
- Partner with the Director of Operations for the Division to develop timely improvement strategies to increase the Division's profitability, and measure results. Coordinate and lead the development of annual operating plan and multi-year strategic plan.
- Oversee completion of timely, accurate, monthly closings and preparation of month-end binder/reconciliations. Prepare plant financial statements and other month-end reporting requirements. Make necessary closing entries for monthly, quarterly and yearly financial reporting, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and procedures as set forth by the Government Accounting Standards Board (GASB) and IFRS.
- Monitor, analyze, investigate, and report variances to budget, and prior reporting periods, recommending corrective/ improvement actions. Facilitate and liaison with external auditors on behalf of the division.
- Analyze and reconcile bank statements, ledgers, reports, and financial records. Perform monthly reconciliations to ensure accuracy of balances. Recommend and prepare adjustments, journal entries, reports, and fund transfers. Analyze and post additions, transfers, and dispositions of capital assets. Oversee General Ledger Journal Entries.
- Prepare schedules for various funds and accounts for the Annual Audit; reconcile accounts with audit outcomes. Complete work papers and supporting schedules in compliance with deadlines
- Document and share appropriate information to ensure the success of NHBB projects, including continuous improvement of processes within Accounting to gain efficiency.

Job Skills & Abilities:
- Attention to Detail
- Demonstrated leadership and professionalism; Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with leaders, associates, and employees
- Advanced knowledge of current accounting standards (Accounting Codification and IFRS)
- Advanced experience with ERP and financial systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Demonstrated ability to build reports and perform research using accounting systems, databases, and other sources.
- Ability to lead projects to successful conclusion
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Ability to follow complex oral and written instructions
- Ability to effectively manage resources and develop controls
- Able to work independently or as a part of a team and manage priorities and workflow; strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA and/or MBA strongly preferred
- Minimum of ten (10) years' experience in a similar role or leadership position in Finance/Accounting for a Manufacturing company
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Able to travel as needed (occasional)
- May include: standing, walking, bending, reaching, grabbing, twisting, carrying, pushing and pulling.
- Must be able to lift up to 40lbs.
