Overview

NV5 Geospatial is seeking a GIS System Architect. U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance are required.

The GIS System Architect will deliver complex IT solutions with a focus on advanced geospatial systems and integrations. This role supports the development of improved processes and methodologies, captures and refines user requirements, and ensures all solutions align with established Enterprise Architecture standards. The architect also advises on and recommends updates to existing architectures to meet evolving needs, enhance workflow efficiency, and improve overall outcomes.

Work Setting:

    Location: Must be within commutable distance of Washington, DC
  • Hybrid Schedule: Minumum of 2 days per week onsite at client location
  • Potential travel up to 5-15% of the time

Responsibilities

  • Deliver complex information technology solutions with a particular understanding of complex geospatial integration.
  • Support the development of processes and methodologies to enhance the overall software process.
  • Apply knowledge of enterprise IT needs to design improved processes, generate and capture user requirements, and ensure solutions adhere to the Enterprise Architecture models, standards, and requirements.
  • Serve as an advisor and propose changes to existing architectures to meet emerging requirements, affect efficiencies in workflows, or improve outcomes.


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 6+ years of demonstrated experience architecting Geospatial Systems for Federal Agencies.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies, resource planning, contract compliance, performance reporting, and stakeholder coordination to efficiently manage work and resources.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 8+ years of demonstrated experience architecting Geospatial Systems for Federal Agencies.
  • Active Public Trust clearance (or higher).

Clearance Requirement:

  • US citizenship, along with the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

The pay range for this Washington DC position is $105,000 - $120,000 per year; however, base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. Full range of financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Medical, dental, and vision insurance are also offered to full-time employees, along with Flexible Spending Accounts and Health Savings Accounts, with employee and employer contributions.
