This role sits within ABB's Robotics business, a leading global robotics company. We're entering an exciting new chapter as we've announced the plan for SoftBank Group to acquire ABB Robotics. This Position reports to:

Robotics Technical Support Manager

The Technical Support Specialist provides expert technical assistance to customers, partners, and internal teams for ABB Robotics products and systems. This role is critical in ensuring high customer satisfaction by diagnosing issues, resolving technical challenges, and supporting the successful operation of robotic solutions. You will also showcase your expertise by communicating both with the customer and ABB sales teams proactively to ensure customer needs are understood and business opportunities utilized for service growth.

The work model for the role is: #LI-Hybrid in Auburn Hills, MI.

Your Role and Responsibilities:

  • Provide escalation technical support for ABB Robotics products, systems, and software via phone, email, and remote tools
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and application-related issues in robotics and automation systems
  • Analyze customer problems, identify root causes, and recommend effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product management, and field service teams to resolve complex issues
  • Document cases, solutions, and best practices in internal support systems
  • Deliver a high level of customer service while meeting response time and quality targets

Qualifications for the Role:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 4+ years' experience, Associate's Degree and 6+ years' experience OR High School Degree and 8+ years' experience
  • 4+ years of previous technical support, field service, or engineering experience working with Industrial Robotics, PLCs, or automation systems.
  • You are immersed in and enjoy working with Robotics and Automation; experience in technical support, field service, or industrial automation.
  • Experience with ABB Robotics products is preferred.
  • Programming Experience, such as robot programming, or scripting in industrial or technical environments preferred
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Willingness to travel 10-20%
  • You are at ease communicating in English, Spanish is a plus.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
