Job Purpose

National Grid is leading the clean energy transition, having announced its vision for a clean, fair and affordable energy future across its jurisdictions by 2050. To achieve this vision, we need to build a smarter, stronger, cleaner energy system. This means reimagining how we operate throughout the business and implementing new processes and technologies.

One such change is STREAMS (Strategic Reimagining of Enterprise Asset Management Systems). It is a multi-year program that will optimize our asset and work management capabilities through introduction of new technologies, processes and ways of working driving a first-class employee and customer experience.

The adoption of these changes is critical to our success. That's where you come in.

Our success is largely dependent upon how well we:

  • Align leadership on the case for change and their role in driving it organization-wide.
  • Equip frontline managers with the skills and resources to advocate for change and coach their teams.
  • Create targeted communications, training, and resources to support user readiness and adoption.
  • Measure and monitor change readiness throughout the change journey and address risks proactively.

As Principal Program Manager for Business Change, you will report to the Change Management Office within the STREAMs Program. You will play a critical role in preparing, equipping and supporting U.S. Electric's asset and work management transformation.

In addition to change management design and delivery experience, strong facilitation, communication, problem-solving, planning and project management skills are required to be effective in this role.

Key Accountabilities
  • Lead the design and delivery of employee-centric change activities for specific employee group(s) that is aligned with standard change management methodology.
  • Understand agile project delivery and how to integrate change management within an agile delivery environment. Inclusive but not limited to:
    • Change Impact Assessments
    • Communications and Engagement activities
    • End-User Training Development and Delivery
    • Change Readiness and Adoption Measurement and action planning
    • Post Go-Live Support
  • Partner with change practitioners across the other major programs (Kraken, NextGen, etc.) to identify stakeholders impacted by multiple projects / releases and change activities related to those efforts; Develop recommendations to mitigate risks to change readiness and adoption.
  • Mentor other team members as needed to foster skill development, enable consistent delivery, change experiences and drive continuous improvement of change delivery.
Qualifications
  • 4+ years of organizational change management experience (OCM), preferably in implementing change driven by technology implementations.
  • 2 - 3 years' experience in developing and implementing end-user training strategies.
  • Able to set and translate strategy, challenges, and emerging priorities into action.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with a focus on teamwork, collaboration, communications and the ability to influence others indirectly, i.e. without direct line supervision.
  • Ability to analyze data, present insights via graphs and charts, and present a succinct, consumable story - Power BI experience a plus
  • Experience in using MS Office suite applications to successfully communicate, engage and present in-person as well as in a hybrid working environment.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Professional qualifications and accreditations in Change Methods (Prosci, ACMP etc.) strongly recommended
  • Prior experience with STORMS system replacement or implementation of enterprise asset management and work management technology, e.g. Maximo preferred

$153,000 - $180,000 a year
