Produce high-powered lasers as part of a manufacturing team. Perform hands-on production tasks, including: electromechanical assembly, splicing of optical fibers, inspection with microscopes, operation of electrical test equipment, operation of lasers, and cleaning parts.
Shift Available:
  • Swing Shift: Sunday-Wednesday between 12PM - 10:30PM (flexible)
Responsibilities:
Learn and perform electromechanical assembly operations required to build fiber lasers
    • Act as first line of defense in troubleshooting equipment and process issues, routine data collection and effective communication of status and solutions
    • Assist Engineering to transition processes to new equipment and help develop and sustain high yielding processes.
    • Reporting to Engineering, develop and test improved processes in support of new product introduction and efficiency improvement targets.
    • Assist Operation Techs in improving processes and help increase yields across the line
    • Work collaboratively with process engineering to manage specific processes, and assist in defining and executing continuous process improvements
    • Within designated work areas, pay close attention to subtle changes in processes or tests and document these observations
    • Help define, and then execute routine process equipment maintenance
    • Assist with the training and certification of Production Personnel
    • Support implementation of process and BOM changes on the line
    • Formal documentation of procedures and work instructions by ECO
    • Identify potential safety hazards in manufacturing stations and processes and drive solutions to them
    • Lead by example in eliminating Process Engineering from Production's critical path
    • Drive continuous improvement opportunities utilizing PFMEA, and a wide variety of analytical techniques (such as SPC, DOE, Gage R&R), lean manufacturing and six sigma concepts
Qualifications
  • 3-5 years professional work experience in volume Production environment working with electronics, semiconductor equipment or opto-mechanical assemblies
  • Associate's degree in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, or exceptional industrial experience in closely related technologies is preferable.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, highly organized and self-motivated
  • Experience in sub-systems, fibers, precision optical/electro-mechanical assemblies
  • Strong record of problem solving, implementing robust processes and systems
  • Experience with new product introduction and product lifecycle process
  • Experience with mechanical drawings, basic tooling and fixture design
  • Knowledge and understanding of optics, fibers, laser diodes and test equipment is highly preferred
  • Ability to work in cleanroom attire and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for extended periods of time, including laser safety protective eyewear.

Process Technician I - starts at $23.41 - $29.30 per hour
Process Technician II - starts at $25.49 - $33.10 per hour
Process Technician III - starts at $27.57 - $35.80 per hour
  • Shift differentialsare paidat the rate of 10% for hours worked between 5:30PMand12:00AM andat15% for hours worked between 12:00AMand5:30AM
  • Target Cash Bonus with potential payout of up to 2% ofearnedwages
