Location: DHS Federal Protective Service - Region 4

Atlanta, GA 30303

Tour of Duty: Monday-Friday, 0900-1700 (Full-Time)


Position Overview

The Administrative Support Assistant provides comprehensive administrative, clerical, and program coordination support to Region 4 leadership, Mission Support Branch, Districts, and program offices. This role functions independently, supporting operational, personnel, finance, training, and data management activities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: AA, BS, or BA degree preferred; or five (5) years of experience supporting GS-12/GS-13-level executives in lieu of degree
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in administrative or secretarial support roles


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and clerical support to Regional leadership, Branch Chiefs, District Commanders, and Program Managers with minimal supervision.
  • Serve as liaison for office procedures, services, and administrative inquiries.
  • Monitor phone calls and emails; respond to routine inquiries and route matters appropriately.
  • Coordinate calendars, meetings, conference calls, agendas, minutes, and follow-up actions.
  • Provide administrative timekeeping support using WebTA, including validation, auditing, reporting, and coordination.
  • Coordinate IT help desk requests and track resolution of service tickets.
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail, courier shipments, and express deliveries.
  • Assist with SES-level travel coordination, authorizations, and expense report reviews.
  • Compile and maintain program data, reports, metrics, and suspense tracking systems.
  • Support data collection, analysis, reporting, and compliance activities for law enforcement and security programs.
  • Maintain automated systems to track milestones, workloads, funding status, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate conference room usage and meeting logistics.
  • Provide back-up support to the Executive Administrative Assistant as required.
  • Support Mission Support Branch functions, including financial management, property, training, and human capital coordination.


Required Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Access, and Visio
  • Typing speed of at least 40 WPM
  • Strong organizational, communication, research, and problem-solving skills
