What to Expect

We're seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join our Core VFX team, responsible for designing and delivering the distributed systems that power Tesla's vehicle delivery experience. Our mission is to create a seamless and efficient customer journey, from order to delivery, by leveraging modern architecture, AI agents, and organization-wide services.

Core VFX is Tesla's vehicle delivery system that manages customer delivery flow, prioritizing high-availability, scalability, performance, and security. Our applications handle customer information, process documents, and facilitate communication through various channels (email, SMS, in-app notifications). We're committed to delivering exceptional customer experiences through real-time data flows and streamlined processes.


What You'll Do
  • Design, develop, and support applications and systems under the team's scope, including vehicle order processing and vehicle delivery experience
  • Write clean, maintainable, performant, and well-tested code to implement new features and fix bugs, adhering to industry best practices
  • Write unit tests, integration tests, and collaborate with QA to coordinate timely regression testing for new features, ensuring high-quality deliverables
  • Monitor live system metrics, respond to alerts, and troubleshoot production issues to ensure seamless system operation
  • Work closely with Product, Design, and Business stakeholders to plan and prioritize new feature development, ensuring alignment with business objectives
  • Own feature development and projects through design, development, testing, release, and maintenance, driving end-to-end delivery
  • Understand and improve the scalability, maintainability, availability, and visibility of applications, ensuring continuous system optimization
  • Document implemented features and application functionality, maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation
  • Stay up-to-date with new technologies, practices, and business concepts to solve emerging problems as Tesla grows
  • Work with a diverse range of technologies, including DotNet Core, C#, GoLang, MySql, Elastic Search, MongoDB, Redis, Python, Angular, Docker, Jenkins, and Kubernetes

What You'll Bring
  • Expert knowledge of REST APIs and distributed systems, with experience in microservices and AI agentic workflows
  • Demonstrated experience scaling systems to large volumes and throughput, ensuring high-performance and reliability
  • Proficiency in C#, GoLang, Python, or other backend programming languages, with experience in databases (SQL or NoSQL)
  • Good unit testing and integration testing practices, with experience in message queue architecture
  • Proven ability to work in a high-impact, responsive, and collaborative team environment, with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies, practices, and business concepts, with a passion for continuous learning and improvement

    Expected Compensation
    $140,000 - $300,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
