Job Description

The Sales Manager will work onsite at our flagship metals plant in Cannon-Muskegon (in West Michigan). Rich relocation support is available for non-local candidates.

*Travel will be required as needed for Customer visits and Customer engagement.

Sales Manager Summary

The Sales Manager leads in the management of the Company's sales activities - maintaining strong, long-lasting relationships and contact with customers, ensures timely customer service, responds to customer requests, facilitates accurate and timely order entry and drives customer order fulfillment to ensure profitability.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage, lead and develop support team of Customer Service Representatives.
  • Monitor sales metrics and provide sales forecast.
  • Perpetuate sales bookings through direct contact and technical liaison with customers.
  • Collecting Sales Forecast data from Sales team and reporting progress on a weekly basis to Sales Director.
  • Manage day-to-day customer communication and ongoing relationships as it relates to current, new and upcoming orders, as well as additional opportunities.
  • Propose strategic sales activities based on customer demand and internal capacity,
  • Report on customer sales trends to Sales and senior leadership.
  • Maintain/control inventory levels for finished goods as directed by management. Monitor finished goods inventory for opportunities and to minimize risk.
  • Track/expedite production orders.
  • Assist accounting with collections.
  • Perform order entry/understand guidelines of contract review.
  • Interface between customers and Manufacturing/Technology concerning specification/technical capability.
  • As necessary, visit clients, attend trade shows and other industry events to capitalize on networking and relationship-building opportunities.
  • Ability to travel at least 15% of the time.
  • Must be willing to work extra hours, if/when needed, in order to ensure that business & customer deliverables are met timely.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and experience - Required

  • 4-year degree in Business Administration, Marketing or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of technical-related sales experience, preferrable in the alloy or aerospace industries.
  • Familiar with technical aspects of CM alloys and concepts of manufacturing processes preferred.
  • Previous leadership experience preferred.
