Introduction

The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office is seeking qualified applicants for a regular full-time Inmate Programs Coordinator position located within the Corrections Division at the Adult Detention Center.


Job Summary

Under the general direction of the designated supervisor, this position executes inmate programs including educational, religious, substance abuse, and reentry programs for Adult Detention Center (ADC) inmates. The position will also coordinate program schedules to ensure inclusion of the maximum number of inmates in programs; plan, organize, and coordinate recruiting and deployment of volunteers in support of inmate programs; and collect and monitor statistical data regarding inmate programs and their impact on recidivism. The position will instruct, proctor, and deliver inmate education and certification programs to include qualifying certification examinations and GED completion.

Duties include:
* Facilitates inmate education and certification programs.
* Communicates with local agencies to support and provide inmate programs at the ADC. Works with existing committees and groups to provide programs for inmates that may or may not continue upon inmate release.
* Monitors service delivery to identify critical gaps and links inmates with essential service providers to ensure successful outcome with the inmates' release and reintegration.
* Monitors programs to find efficiencies and improvements; makes recommendations to the Inmate Program Manager to improve program delivery and outcomes
* Recruits volunteers, does background screening, onboarding, and training of volunteers to Assists with planning and conducting events and outreach with community partners, educational institutions, prospective volunteers, and the public.

Hiring salary will be commensurate with experience.


Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field; one (1) year of work experience such as coordinating training and/or working with community groups and volunteers; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Job Contingencies and Special Requirements

Pass pre-employment background checks including references, credit, fingerprinting, and polygraph examination. Hold/obtain VCIN/NCIC certifications in additional to any other certifications required for assigned area. Attend LIDS/CORIS training.
