PurposeThe Senior Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of the UT GEAR UP Mindset College Ready (MCR) and UT GEAR UP for Industry Development and Educational Success (GUIDES) programs in Aldine ISD by ensuring alignment with program objectives and fostering collaboration between UT Austin and district staff. This position ensures consistent delivery of college readiness initiatives, compliance with grant requirements, and positive outcomes for students and families. ResponsibilitiesFunction 1: Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to site coordinators, ensuring delivery of high-quality academic enrichment and college readiness services in the district. Assist with the design and delivery of training and identify ongoing professional development opportunities for site coordinators. Function 2: Provide essential on-the-ground leadership and support to the Project Directors. Act as a liaison between UT Austin and Aldine ISD, facilitating communication, program alignment, and collaboration with district administrators and school leadership. Troubleshoot issues and work collaboratively with UT Austin and the district to find appropriate solutions. Function 3: Monitor the implementation of college and career readiness program activities, assess progress toward grant objectives, and ensure compliance with match, data collection, and reporting requirements Function 4: Coordinate and support UT GEAR UP-sponsored programs and district-level events for stakeholders to enhance program effectiveness. Function 5: Develop and maintain strong partnerships with stakeholders, including families, community organizations, and district leadership, to ensure program sustainability. Function 6: Other related functions as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Master's degree in related field such as Education, Business Administration, or Public Affairs/Administration. 5+ years of experience administering K-12 or higher education student services or academic development programs. Experience with federal programs and grants. Experience working with multiple partners in a program or major service delivery project. Excellent knowledge of college readiness issues and challenges facing low-income, first-generation student populations. Supervisory experience. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Familiarity with the administrative structure of a large research university. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate. Preferred QualificationsPrevious experience with GEAR UP. Experience with grant and contract development, writing, and submitting proposals. Familiarity with UT Austin systems and contract processes. Preferably located in Houston with the expectation of required trips to central Texas based on an agreed upon schedule. Salary Range$85,000 + depending on qualifications Working Conditions
