What You Will Do:

As a Geotechnical Operations Manager, you will step into a high-impact leadership role where you'll drive diverse projects forward, grow and mentor future technical leaders, and strengthen client partnerships. This position offers the opportunity to shape operations across multiple service lines and locations while collaborating with a dynamic, multidisciplinary team.

You Day-to-Day:



  • Leadership & Operations: Lead and support a diverse, multidisciplinary team while overseeing daily operations, including project execution, business development, safety, quality, financial performance, human resources, and risk management.
  • Strategic Planning: Partner with leadership peers to shape and implement the annual business plan and guide long-term office and market growth strategies.
  • Project Leadership: Oversee geotechnical investigation projects ranging in size and complexity, prepare proposals and technical deliverables, and ensure work is performed in alignment with S&ME standards.
  • Client & Business Growth: Expand client relationships, identify cross-selling opportunities, and utilize firmwide tools and resources to secure new and repeat business.
  • Professional Engagement: Build and maintain strong industry relationships through active involvement in professional organizations to enhance S&ME's visibility and market presence.



Qualifications:



  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical Engineering or a Construction related field, preferred
  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years experience in Operational and/or Project Management, experience within the A/E/C industry
  • Key Competencies:

    • Experienced background in building and maintaining client relationships, with a proven ability to grow business by winning work and expanding backlog
    • Ability and desire to divide time between the office and regular site visits in the field to support and engage field staff
