Description Management/Leadership Inpatient Dialysis & Medical Nephrology Req #: 56727 The Manager of Nursing Services oversees clinical operations for the inpatient dialysis unit and provides leadership support for the R5 Medical Nephrology Unit. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care while maintaining compliance with ESRD regulatory and quality standards. Responsibilities include managing staff, coordinating complex renal therapies, and fostering a culture aligned with MaineHealth's mission and values. In this pivotal role, you will oversee approximately 30 direct reports and ensure the safe, effective delivery of advanced treatments-including hemodialysis, plasma exchange, red blood cell exchange, and continuous renal replacement therapy-for both adult and pediatric patients. This position offers the opportunity to drive operational excellence, maintain regulatory compliance, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes while fostering a culture of growth and development within your team. The ideal candidate will bring prior experience in nephrology and/or dialysis, along with leadership experience managing clinical teams. A strong understanding of ESRD regulations and quality standards, as well as exceptional communication, organizational, and leadership skills to foster collaboration and drive excellence in patient care. Summary: The Nurse Manager in collaboration with the Nursing Director is the vital link between the mission and vision of Maine Medical Center and the delivery of safe patient and family centered care that is compassionate, evidence-based, and provides highest quality care. Reporting through the Nursing Director, this role requires collaboration with staff, physicians, directors, other professional colleagues and occasionally senior administration, to meet the diverse and continually changing challenges of the health care environment. The Nurse Manager must be a creative, autonomous, future-oriented, risk-taking entrepreneur who applies nursing expertise, critical thinking, and effective leadership and management skills to ensure that quality care is provided through satisfied and inspired professionals on a daily basis.
