Job Description




As a Security Officer - Education Campus Patrol in Wilmington, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal at an educational location, you will conduct routine patrols and help to deter security-related incidents while maintaining a strong presence throughout the campus. This is a driving post, so a valid driver's license is required. You will provide exceptional customer service and communication, supporting a welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, students, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, as well as responding appropriately to emergency situations.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following the protocols established for the location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the campus buildings and surrounding areas to help to deter unauthorized activities and identify potential concerns.
  • Observe and report any suspicious activity, hazards, or maintenance issues encountered during patrols to the appropriate personnel.
  • Assist in controlling access to buildings and restricted areas by monitoring entrances and verifying credentials as required.
  • Support campus events and activities by providing a visible security-related presence and assisting with crowd management when necessary.
  • Document all incidents, observations, and activities in daily reports and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal management and site leadership.
  • Collaborate with campus staff and local emergency services as needed to address incidents and maintain a secure environment for all occupants.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
