Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Sr Research Technician.

In this role, the successful candidate Position Summary:Responsible for performing advanced lab duties, under general supervision as well as more advanced duties under direct supervision. He brings extensive experience in laboratory management and research on the molecular toxicity of heavy metals, particularly in both in vitro cell culture systems and in vivo mouse models. Works under general direction.

Job Responsibilities:

Participates and performs other related duties as required.

Laboratory Management and Maintenance

Assist with ordering and tracking laboratory supplies to ensure smooth operation

Coordinate repair and preventive maintenance of laboratory equipment; perform routine technical tasks

Supervise junior lab members and graduate students; assist in experimental planning and interpretation of results.

Support the implementation of new procedures and protocols; contribute to the development and refinement of experimental methodologies.

Assist with preparation and maintenance of animal protocols and Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) approvals

Research Activities

Muscle Regeneration Studies:Conduct muscle injury experiments and analyze regeneration using histopathological techniques.

Single-Cell Omics:Perform single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq), single-cell ATAC-seq (scATAC-seq), and single-cell ChIP-seq (scChIP-seq) under the supervision of Dr. Sun.

Cell culture work:Establish and maintain stable cell lines with overexpression or depletion of genes of interest to the labs research focus.

Animal Work:Maintain mouse colonies, perform genotyping, and assist with in vivo experimental procedures.

Method Development:Contribute to the development of novel research techniques and methodologies relevant to the labs focus.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Life Sciences or a related field with three years of experience. Specialization in three or more laboratory procedures is required. A solid foundation in basic lab protocols as well as significant experience in areas such as procedures is essential and required. Possess the knowledge and experience in specific areas such as Biochemistry, Histology, Molecular Biology, Immunology, etc.
In lieu of education, at least 10 years of related experience in a lab setting. NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $41,340.00 - $61,405.80 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
