Job Description:

The Job

Bring AI from concept to capability. The AI Engineer transforms emerging technologies into operational tools that improve care, efficiency, and experience for our members and staff. They design, build, and deploy scalable AI systems across the Azure ecosystem-working from prototype to production while ensuring each solution aligns with Responsible AI principles and business-impact goals.

You Will

  • Solution Development: Design and implement AI/ML workflows leveraging Azure AI Services (e.g., Language, Vision, Speech, Content Understanding) and build custom applications/agents using Azure AI Foundry for retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), intelligent automation, and agentic use cases.
  • Data & Integration: Partner with Data Engineering to connect models with curated data assets (Snowflake, Databricks, Fabric), build embeddings and retrieval layers, and integrate Azure AI Services outputs into custom applications. Deployment & Optimization: Containerize and operationalize models or pipelines for scale via Azure ML, Functions, Logic Apps, or APIs behind API Management; deploy and monitor agents/applications centrally.
  • Evaluation & Monitoring: Build evaluation frameworks to assess model quality (e.g., BLEU/ROUGE/Jaccard for text, LLM-as-Judge, Tool Use), drift detection, fairness and bias audits; contribute to our Responsible AI review and governance process.
  • Collaboration & Embedding: Embed with business units to translate opportunities into technical requirements, advise on design trade-offs, ROI, and help them understand how to integrate AI-driven tools in workflows.
  • Documentation & Reuse: Develop and maintain reusable prompt templates, orchestration flows, SDK components, and libraries for the team to accelerate future solution development.

Your Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of related experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or related field.
  • Solid applied understanding of LLM-based architectures, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), vector embeddings, prompt engineering, and agent orchestration.
  • Expertise with Azure AI Services (Language, Vision, Speech, etc.) and the Azure AI Foundry platform (model catalog, agent services, SDKs).
  • Proficiency in Python (or equivalent), REST APIs, ML/LLMOps tooling, and frameworks (e.g., FastAPI, LangChain, FastMCP, Semantic Kernel or similar).
  • Ability to translate business problems into measurable technical solutions, delivering outcomes and insights.
  • Collaborative communicator capable of working across business, compliance, IT, and analytics teams.
  • Familiarity with Responsible AI governance-traceability, explainability, fairness, bias detection, and monitoring pipelines.
  • Experience with Model Context Protocol (MCP) and Agent to Agent (A2A) frameworks
