State Department Federal Credit Union is seeking an Assistant Branch Sales Manager to provide leadership, operational oversight, and exceptional member service within the branch. This role is responsible for supervising and developing branch staff, managing daily operations, and ensuring compliance with credit union policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements. The Assistant Branch Sales Manager plays a key role in driving member satisfaction, operational excellence, and sales growth. In the absence of the Branch Manager, this position assumes full responsibility for branch management and performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Supervise, coach, and develop branch staff to ensure high performance and professional growth.
  • Coordinate and oversee daily branch operations, including scheduling and staff management, cash control, vault security, audits, and compliance with internal controls.
  • Provide operational support by assisting staff in resolving complex member issues and performing member account adjustments.
  • Approve transactions and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Manage the branch independently in the absence of the Branch Manager.
  • Participate in the selection, hiring, onboarding, and evaluation of staff; plan, assign, and direct work.
  • Provide written input for employee performance appraisals, update job descriptions, and participate in evaluations.
  • Recommend and assist with corrective actions, including preparing documentation and issuing written warnings.
  • Proactively identify member needs and deliver tailored product and service solutions while providing exceptional experiences through strong relationship-building and effective member service skills.
  • Perform member service representative duties and member service functions, including loan processing and handling service requests.


Qualifications

Required Skills and Competencies:



  • Minimum of three years financial institution experience required including: member services, loan processing, sales, ATM balancing, and on-line computer system.
  • Associate's degree desired.
  • Minimum of one year experience in a leadership/coaching role in the financial industry.
  • Knowledge of credit union rules, regulations, and policies desired.
  • Minimum three years of experience with client service and relationship skill building; proactive sales skills and ability to meet service and sales goals.
  • Ability to use sound judgement, logic, and initiative while maintaining member confidentiality and demonstrating integrity.
  • Accuracy and detail orientation.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, with particular attention to grammar and composition.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including dealing with people in a professional manner, diplomacy, and tact.
  • Ability to work independently. This includes managing priorities and working under pressure.
