They serve as strategic partners to leadership teams, supporting organizational objectives and promoting a positive work culture.

Discipline Description

Human Resources (HR) managers oversee multiple HR functions, including recruitment, compensation, benefits, labor relations, and strategic workforce initiatives. They lead HR teams to ensure compliance with federal directives, federal and state labor laws, contract requirements, and company policies while developing and implementing strategies to better attract, retain, motivate, and develop top talent. They collaborate with executive leadership and operational teams to align HR programs with business objectives, and to increase employee engagement. They are responsible for workforce planning, total rewards strategy, HR policy, and continuous improvement of HR processes to optimize efficiency and compliance.

Some Typical Duties & Responsibilities Include:

The Director of Total Rewards will oversee all compensation and benefits activities. This role will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of employee compensation, medical/health plans, wellness initiatives, retiree benefits, FMLA, disability, and more. This role will ensure that company programs are competitive, cost-effective, compliant, and aligned with the company's strategic objectives.

* Develop and implement comprehensive compensation and benefits strategies.
* Oversee all aspects of health, wellness, and retirement programs.
* Interact with federal customers and other M&O contractors.
* Oversee all aspects of company compensation programs and structures.
* Manage short-term disability and FMLA processes and compliance.
* Monitor and assess the effectiveness of compensation and benefits programs.
* Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure rewards alignment with company goals.
* Provide guidance and support to HR and management on compensation and benefits issues.
* Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
* Oversee recurring and timely market analysis processes to ensure competitive positioning as it relates to both benefits and compensation.
* Oversee administration of current relevant systems and technologies. Where appropriate, advocate for and pursue process efficiencies new technologies.
* Manage existing vendor relationships and actively pursue new relationships where appropriate.
* Drive competitive, modern, and compliant compensation programs.

Required Qualifications

* Twenty or more years of experience (YOE) as an individual contributor in one or more of the roles managed plus nine or more years of experience (YOE) in a relevant management role, OR Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field plus fifteen or more years of experience (YOE) in one or more of the roles managed, OR
Master's Degree in a relevant field plus twelve or more years of experience (YOE) in one or more of the roles managed
* Equivalencies to experience and education requirements will be considered.
* Experience managing Compensation teams, Benefits (Retirement, Wellness, Medical etc.) teams, or Total Rewards teams.
* Working knowledge of applicable labor laws.
* Prior HR management experience in complex, technical environments or industries.
* Experience in developing and implementing effective total rewards strategies.
* Working knowledge of various HRIS technologies.

We'd Also Like to See

* Experience with the Department of Energy (DOE), National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), Department of Defense (DOD), or other relevant federal agencies.
* Experience leading large HR teams and managers.
* Experience designing, obtaining approval for, and implementing total rewards programs and strategies.
* Past or current Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) designation.
* Past or current SPHR or SHRM-SCP certifications.

Security Clearance Information

SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug & alcohol test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Factors such as pre-employment background review results, dual citizenship status, and unpaid and/or unfiled taxes may impact your ability to obtain a security clearance.
