POSITION SUMMARY:



The Setup Technician is responsible for preparing and maintaining both manual and automatic tape and reel machines to ensure smooth and efficient production. This role plays a critical part in minimizing downtime, supporting operators, and maintaining high-quality standards.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Monitor the dispatch list to prioritize and complete setups for manual and automatic tape and reel machines.
  • Ensure jobs are fully prepared for operators to begin production without delays.
  • Assist with troubleshooting machine issues and perform changeovers as needed.
  • Communicate machine status and any issues promptly to maintenance and management.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and suggest process enhancements.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:



  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • One to three years of experience desired in a manufacturing environment.
  • Any equivalent combination of education and experience determined to be acceptable by management.



QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM RESPONSIBILITIES



  • As a member of the Quality Management System, quality procedures, requirements, work instructions, and other required documentation must be followed. Team members are responsible to be aware of the company's quality policy and quality objectives to support the continuous improvement projects and contribute to the overall mission of the organization.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT



  • Works primarily in a climate controlled manufacturing environment with regular exposure to dust, odors, oil, and fumes with moderate noise. Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, and move about the facility. May be required to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Sedentary, sitting, walking, occasional lifting (overhead, waist level) from floor, bending, and reaching
  • PPE required may include safety glasses and gloves in designated areas of the facility.
