DESCRIPTION

As an academic administrative unit in the School of Medicine, the mission of the Department of Family Medicine is to provide compassionate, evidence-based, patient-centered health care in an academic setting to a diverse and inclusive population, while also providing rigorous training to a broad spectrum of physicians and trainees that will become leaders in contemporary and translational research. The Department's vision is to create a healthier world for all by applying innovative and transformative healthcare while training thenext generation of thoughtful leaders to continue discovering impactful interventions for the treatment and prevention of disease.

The Department of Family Medicine is comprised of five divisions, six centers and fifteen programs.

Divisions(1) Family Medicine; (2) Integrative Health; (3) Integrated Behavioral Health;(4) Preventive Medicine; and (5) Sports Medicine comprise the five divisions of the Department.

Centers(1) The Center for Integrative Education (CIE);(2) The Center for Integrative Medicine (CIM); (3) The Center for Mindfulness (CFM); (4) The Center for Integrative Nutrition (CIN); (5) The Krupp Center for Integrative Research (CIR); and (6) Learning Health Systems (LHS) Center.

Serving in the Department of Family Medicine Business Office and reporting to the Director of Finance, the Sr. Financial and Operations Analyst will support the Director of Finance with faculty compensation administration, serves as a department security administrators, and leads the development and implementation of department business intelligence tools, including databases, BI Reports, fiscal processes, and systems to deliver efficient financial insights and drive business outcomes. The position uses advanced financial services, accounting concepts, and organizational objectives to resolve highly complex issues. Regularly works on highly complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluationcriteria for obtaining results.

The incumbent uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional to perform financial services, accounting and business concepts, and organizational objectives to advance operations and proactively resolve challenges. The position regularly resolves a wide range of issues in imaginative as well as practical ways. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Nine (9) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor's degree in related area plus five (5) or more years of relevant experience.

  • Advanced knowledge of financial or accounting concepts, policies and procedures, as well as related accounting and regulatory compliance requirements.

  • Advanced knowledge of organization and systemwide financial processes and procedures.

  • Advanced skills in the use of spreadsheet and database software.

  • May require analytical skills sufficient to develop and implement financial data management and reporting systems.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively across the organization at all levels.

  • May require skills in project management, leadership, and process re-design.

  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources.

  • Advanced leadership skills to provide guidance, coaching and mentoring to professional and support staff.

  • Skills include service orientation, ability to multi-task effectively in a varied, high volume environment; uses sound judgment and decision making, critical thinking, creative problem solving, and effective verbal and written communication skills.
