We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse for a full-time position in our 1st Acute Med/Surg unit. The role requires rotational shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Floating may be required as needed. This position is based in New York State and requires a current NYS RN Licensure, as well as BLS and ACLS certifications.


Responsibilities

  • Apply nursing theory, technical, and communication skills to deliver high-quality compassionate care to patients and families.
  • Assess patient needs and develop a plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Provide direct care, evaluate patient progress, and coordinate care delivery throughout the patient's episode.
  • Develop specialized skills in cardiac care, including telemetry monitoring.
  • Educate patients and families on self-care beyond hospitalization, including lifestyle changes to support health and healing.
  • Promote comfort and provide emotional support in a healing environment.
  • Engage in self-evaluation to identify strengths and areas for professional development, taking accountability to increase knowledge and enhance skills.
  • Use logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Motivate patients and families by teaching them what is needed to continue care and healing at home.
  • Encourage and build mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members to achieve the best possible patient outcomes.
  • Comply with infection prevention strategies and maintain competencies required to care for the specific population in the area assigned.
  • Promote leadership awareness and foster positive change.
  • Conduct rounds per protocol and use tools and equipment to keep the patient/family informed, engaged, and safe.


Qualifications

  • Current NYS RN Licensure
  • BLS and ACLS certifications
  • One (1) year of experience serving in a Med/Surg environment as a Registered Nurse
