TITLE: Dispatch Manager LOCATION: Houston, TX POSITION REPORTS TO: Director of Logistics SCHEDULE: TBD; some overtime, and some weekends may be required. COMPENSATION: Commensurate with experience INTERNAL TRANSFERS: To qualify for an internal transfer at Sun Coast, you must have been in your current position for a minimum of one year and be in good standing. Internal applicants should notify their supervisor or manager of their interest in the new position. Position Summary: The Dispatch Manager will oversee daily dispatch operations to ensure efficient routing, on-time deliveries, and top-tier customer service. This role requires a strong leader with a focus on team development, compliance, and continuous process improvement. RESPONSIBILITIES * Manage day-to-day dispatch operations, ensuring optimal routing, on-time deliveries, and compliance with company service standards * Supervise, train, and coach dispatch staff to improve performance, productivity, and customer responsiveness * Provide leadership and direction to the dispatch team, ensuring adequate staffing, balanced workloads, and coverage for all shifts * Exercise independent judgment in resolving operational challenges and making time-sensitive decisions affecting service and cost outcomes * Ensure compliance with all transportation, DOT, and company safety regulations * Respond to escalated issues and resolve customer or staff concerns in a timely and professional manner * Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, and Terminal Managers to align dispatch priorities with broader business objectives * Monitor driver performance and ensure dispatchers are addressing inefficiencies through data-driven feedback * Evaluate and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs * Participate in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring for dispatch-related positions; provide input on promotions, performance management, and terminations * Conduct employee performance reviews and issue corrective actions, when necessary, in alignment with company policy * Oversee daily use of transportation management systems, route-planning tools, and telematics to improve performance and accountability * Maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners to support effective communication and customer satisfaction * Ensure accurate and timely completion of reports and operational documentation * Enforce and support all company policies and procedures * Provide regular updates to the Director of Logistics regarding operational performance, staffing, and improvement initiatives * Perform other related tasks or projects as assigned REQUIREMENTS * Must live within 60 miles of the Houston location and be willing to work onsite * Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or management experience in dispatch, logistics, transportation, or a related field * Proven ability to direct and develop staff, manage performance, and make decisions that impact business operations * Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills * Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to build effective working relationships across teams * Demonstrated ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. * Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint * Experience with transportation management systems, route optimization, and telematics platforms * Solid understanding of DOT regulations, safety standards, and logistics best practices * Professional, ethical, and able to work independently with minimal supervision PREFERRED * Previous management experience within the fuel or transportation industry Sun Coast Resources, LLC is an equal opportunity employer.
