Job Overview

The VMI Coordinator is a vital member of the Customer Service team, responsible for supporting vendor managed inventory (VMI) accounts and ensuring smooth daily operations with trading partners. This role focuses on executing core VMI processes, maintaining strong customer relationships, and delivering accurate, timely inventory solutions.



The role will be located in a hybrid role at Hubbell locations in Shelton, CT, Archdale, NC or Greenville, SC

A Day In The Life

  • Account & Inventory Management:


    • Oversee day-to-day VMI account processes, including order point management, order building, review, and launches.
    • Monitor inventory levels, analyze suggested stocking reports, stock out reports, and adjust replenishment variables as needed.
    • Respond to alerts, distinguishing between routine notifications and critical issues.


  • Reporting & Analysis:


    • Prepare and distribute post-launch summary reports, monthly performance reports, and other VMI account reporting.
    • Review product activity errors and provide data-driven recommendations for improvement.


  • Returns & Adjustments:


    • Manage the return process, including recommended return reports and returns automation.
    • Build and route automated returns worksheets/reports to trading partners.
    • Address seasonality requirements, including incremental bump orders and adjustments for accelerators/decelerators.


  • Customer & Partner Engagement:


    • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and trading partners through regular outreach and feedback collection.
    • Provide extended services such as forward buy for pricing adjustments and order splitting.
    • Facilitate onboarding for new VMI customers and branches, as well as assist with trading partner set-up and data clean-up.


  • Collaboration & Communication:


    • Work closely with internal teams (platform support, field sales, eCommerce, etc.) and external partners to resolve issues and support VMI processes.
    • Communicate effectively through written and verbal channels, including routine notifications and meeting notes.


  • Continuous Improvement:


    • Seek creative solutions to challenges and contribute to process enhancements.
    • Participate in professional development and ongoing education to stay current with industry best practices.


What will help you thrive in this role?

  • Two-year college degree preferred, with 4 plus years experience in customer service, inventory/account support, and a strong aptitude for technology or high school with 6 years exerience in customer service inventory/account support
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • SAP experience preferred
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.
