Acara Solution is seeking a Senior Advanced Software Engineer for our client, located in Florham Park, NJ.

  • As a software engineer for a client, you'll be a member of a cross-functional team responsible for the development and delivery of a complex system critical to our customer's mission.
  • You will work as part of a cross-functional, agile development team, collaborating with systems engineers, hardware engineers, and other software professionals to ensure the successful integration and performance of advanced defense and technology solutions.
  • Your primary focus will be on developing high-quality embedded software in a Linux environment, contributing to both the architecture and implementation of software components that interact with real-time systems, hardware devices, and user interfaces.
  • Serve as a technical leader and mentor within the development team.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including DevOps and CI/CD integration.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering standards, security requirements, and quality processes.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders and customers to understand requirements and translate them into practical software solutions.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development for yourself and others.
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering or Science or Engineering or Mathematics with 8 years of experience.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in MBSE/SysML/MagicDraw & CI/CD.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree with 6 years of experience.
  • Agile experience.
  • Embedded Software in a Linux environment.
  • Qt/C++/UI expertise at a mature production level.
  • Drivers and interfaces to COTS devices.
  • Creative thinker with a proven track record of leading the software development life cycle.
  • Expertise in applying technical standards and methodologies to solve challenges.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the capacity to secure buy-in on concepts and ideas.
  • Collaborative team player eager to provide technical leadership and position others for success.
