Job Description:

Lead Workday Technology Consultant - The Auto Club Group

What you will do:

Serve as the Workday lead technology expert responsible for system configurations for more than one discipline/module. Responsible for Cloud solutions that support assigned COE. Provide input as the acknowledged expert for the entire Workday platform. Use advanced knowledge to support all phases of system functionality to include integrations, maintenance, administration, data management, reporting, and other operations associated with assigned discipline. Design, build, test, and deploy configuration changes, reports, or dashboards. Develop data integrity protocols and security controls between HR/Finance and other internal departments. Monitor performance of the technology and software. Maintain the integrity of the existing structure, security, and data. Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex issues that arise regarding systems and data associated with assigned COEs/modules. Use in-depth knowledge of COE processes and the interdependencies with other processes to advise and recommend technical solutions. Advise and recommend technical solutions and process updates to resolve issues, gain process efficiency and improve data integrity.

Lead projects and project teams responsible for reviewing, testing, and implementing upgrades, patches. Provide end user training on system functionality and business processes. Lead vendor relationships and stay informed of industry trends and new technologies. Serve as a point of contact with internal and external stakeholders.

Continue to develop advanced knowledge in multiple COEs. Understand the ACG business strategy and competitive environment and supports the implementation of business strategies into technology solutions. Serve as a department expert by understanding and recommending enhancements to department policies and procedures.

Primary focus is within the Workday Finance modules which may include:

  • Provide consultative services for the department staff and external clients
  • Complete timely, complex analyses for upper management
  • Prepare ad hoc reports and analyze as needed
  • Plan major hardware and software upgrades and improvements to system
  • Lead the design, configuration, and deployment of Workday Accounting Center including accounting rules, journal sources, transformations, and mappings. Manage PRISM database
  • Troubleshoot accounting center integrations
  • Analyze and optimize financial data ingestion and transformation processes from upstream systems
  • Maintain documentation for accounting rules, source mappings, and functional designs
  • Leverage Workday Discovery Boards, Prism Analytics, and Advanced Reporting to expand visibility and empower the business with self-service analytics.
  • Monitor data integrity, troubleshoot transformation issues, and resolve accounting discrepancies

We're looking for candidates who:

Required Qualifications:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree and five years of Workday or similar finance system or experience as listed in the Experience section below

OR

  • College level coursework and ten years of Workday of similar finance system or experience in the areas listed in the Experience section below

Experience:

Workday experience to include the following:

  • Analyzing, testing, documenting, implementing and/or deployment of business systems and programs
  • Planning, organizing, controlling, monitoring, and reporting projects including providing work direction and guidance.
  • Designing business unit specific systems
  • Training others on the development and implementation/deployment of technical or new application projects
  • Developing security controls that may include disaster recovery plans for automated systems
  • Investigating and resolving production problems
  • Using operating systems (e.g., Windows, Netware, IPM, NT; and client/server database management systems)
  • Coordinating support activities provided by multiple off-site vendors and internal departments.
  • Database administration including programming complex reporting against relational databases (e.g., DB2) and hierarchical database unload files (e.g., IMS)
  • Utilizing PC software applications (e.g., Windows operating systems, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, VISIO, MS Project, Netware, IPM, NT, client/server database management systems, etc.) to format databases, write queries, generate reports, etc.

Advanced Knowledge of:

  • Structured system analysis, design, and testing protocols

  • Assist less experienced staff and peers
  • Conduct training sessions for staff regarding report preparation

Preferred Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance
  • Master's degree in related business line/field
  • Workday Pro Certification

Experience:

  • 5+ Years' experience with ERP or EPM systems
  • Structured system analysis, design and testing protocols
  • Hands-on experience with the following Workday modules: Financials, Business Process workflow and Report Writer (including calculated fields, advanced reports, matrix reports, composite reports), Accounting Center, PRISM and security
  • Experience with Financial Accounting to include month end close process and journal entries
  • Project management experience
  • Understanding of complex system interdependencies and system generated journals

Work Environment

This is a hybrid work arrangement (time spent in office and remote). Depending on the employee's role and leadership's assessment, some employees will come in to an ACG facility on a weekly basis, a monthly basis, or on an "as needed" basis for key meetings and collaborative activities. Most employees will be required to come into the office, at a minimum, for important departmental meetings or team building events.
