Job Overview:

The NPI (New Product Introduction) Engineer is responsible for the development, qualification, and launch of new processes for manufacturing. Additionally, the NPI Engineer is responsible for improving NPI processes, training of new operators for OQ/PQ validation, and developing cost saving projects by deploying processing improvements.

Responsibilities:


  • Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) process development from prototyping through launch, including DOE, First Article builds, and validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ)

  • Develop and implement new manufacturing processes, tooling, and production concepts that meet customer and business requirements for cost, quality, delivery, and compliance.

  • Create, execute, and maintain process validation and quality documentation, including process sheets, work instructions, SOPs, control plans, PFMEAs, and troubleshooting guides.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Design Engineering, Project Engineering, Quality, and Production to transition prototypes into cost-efficient, high-volume manufacturing.

  • Provide hands-on engineering support for molding, inspection, characterization, material handling, manufacturing flow, and safe production practices.

  • Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives in equipment, processes, and workflows in partnership with engineering and quality teams.

  • Train and support manufacturing operators on materials, tooling, equipment, cleanroom practices, contamination control, safety, traceability, and housekeeping requirements.

  • Ensure adherence to Ingersoll Rand and Flexan standards, corporate values, quality systems, regulatory requirements, and maintain effective communication and professional conduct.




Requirements:


  • Bachelor of science from a four-year college or university in an engineering or science related field.

  • 3+ years of related experience.

  • Must be motivated and creative, work well under pressure and operate effectively in a fast-paced team environment.

  • Must meet internal deadlines and customer due dates.

  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate needs and demands in an effective manner.

  • Must be detail oriented, focused and able to produce accurate and professional documents.

  • Must have advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Minitab (or other statistical analysis software).

  • Must have experience with Solidworks or similar CAD modeling software.




Preferences:


  • 3+ years' experience in manufacturing engineering or a related field.

  • Experience working with medical devices and associated regulatory requirements.

  • Experience with product qualification and process validation activities - IQ, OQ or PQ.
