We are excited to be hiring a Milieu Supervisor at our Nexus-PATH Luther Hall location in Fargo, ND! The Milieu Supervisor is responsible to provide trauma-informed milieu leadership and mentorship in the treatment guidance plans through effective communication, organization, and planning of the daily operations of the program and assigned unit. Responsibilities:
- Prepares assigned staff work schedules to ensure adequate staff and client ratios
- Ensures that staff are performing their assigned duties and interacting with clients in a calm, therapeutic, and trauma-informed manner
- Ensures staff time cards are accurately maintained and approved
- Assists in the planning and scheduling of trauma-informed daily treatment services such as ensuring transportation needs are met; scheduling of family time and contact, special events, functions, and approved program trips
- Contributes to the development of and adherence to guidance plans
- Provides on the job coaching, training, and mentoring to staff
- Coordinates and ensures that all shift-related client and staff documentation is completed
- Identifies potential problems or risk factors on the program and generates alternative solutions
- Ensures that new admissions are entering into a safe and welcoming environment
- Assists in the review of new applicants and participates in the interview and selection of staff/team members
- Ensures that new Youth Care Professionals are mentored properly
- Provides direct supervision of assigned staff and provide performance management for staff on an ongoing basis
- Ensures confidentiality regarding client's and family's issues, background, and treatment
- Conducts regular inspections of program areas
- Provides direct floor coverage during staff absences, emergencies and for on-call coverage
- Remains current on all company policies, assigned training, and/or certification requirements
Required Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma and 2 years minimum Nexus experience working in a treatment/counseling capacity for youth (e.g. residential, foster care/adoption, CTSS, group home/TLP, day treatment, or related adolescent counseling programs) OR 4 years external experience working with youth in a residential treatment facility; OR
- Associates Degree and 2 years minimum experience (external and/or internal experience) working with youth in a residential treatment facility; OR
- Bachelor's Degree, preferably in a social work, psychology or clinically related field in social services, & minimum of 1 year (external and/or internal) of related experience with youth in a residential treatment facility
- Minimum of one year of team lead and/or supervisory experience is required
- Experience working with families and trauma-exposed children or adolescents is strongly preferred
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Valid driver's license required. Must meet state regulating agency and company driving requirements.
Physical Demands: The job requires extended periods of standing and walking. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100+ pounds with assistance.
